How to Apply Elixir d'Orrache
User Guide for Elixir d’Orrache and Dermaroller
To get the most out of your dermaroller treatments, it's crucial to use the Elixir d’Orrache serum correctly. Improper use of a dermaroller can harm your skin and lead to infections, so follow these simple yet important instructions for optimal results.
Benefits of Our Products. Our dermaroller and serum combination can help address the following skin concerns:
- Stretch marks
- Rough skin texture
- Scars
- Fine wrinkles
- Sun damage
- Hyperpigmentation
- Sagging skin
When NOT to Use the Dermaroller. Avoid using the dermaroller on areas affected by:
- Acne
- Active infections
- Eczema
- Herpes
- Crusts
- Warts
- Open wounds
If you've recently undergone treatments like chemical peels or laser therapy, wait until your skin has fully healed before using the dermaroller on that area.
Preparing for Treatment. To allow your skin the necessary time to heal and rejuvenate, we recommend starting your treatment in the evening. Afterward, stay indoors and avoid direct sunlight.
Step 1: Clean Your Skin
Begin by washing the area with a gentle cleanser, avoiding harsh ingredients. It’s best to perform the treatment after a warm shower, because it helps open pores. For a deeper clean, gently exfoliate using a washcloth to remove all traces of dirt, oils, and self-tanner.
Step 2: Rolling Technique
- Gently roll the dermaroller over the desired area 6-8 times.
- Move slowly and carefully, especially during your first session.
- Roll in different directions over the same spot, lifting the roller before changing direction. Never roll back and forth in one continuous motion as this can damage your skin.
It’s normal to feel some discomfort during the process. A slight irritation is expected, especially when you’re just starting. If the area feels overly sensitive, reduce the intensity by rolling less in that spot.
Step 3: Applying the Serum
After rolling, apply the Elixir d’Orrache serum to the treated area. This step is very important as the micro-channels created by the dermaroller significantly enhance the absorption of the serum. Some users prefer to apply the serum before rolling, but this is less effective since the skin needs time to respond to the roller’s action.
Apply the serum within 10 minutes after rolling for maximum effectiveness. You can reapply the serum a few more times throughout the day without additional rolling. This will further boost the skin's absorption of the active ingredients.
Sun Protection. If you've rolled during the day, apply a sunscreen with at least SPF 30 before exposing the treated area to sunlight. Wait at least 15 minutes before applying makeup or self-tanner—longer is even better.
Aftercare Tips. Post-treatment, your skin may feel sensitive and exhibit redness, tightness, or slight swelling—similar to a mild sunburn. These are normal reactions that indicate the treatment was effective. Here’s how to care for your skin afterward:
- Avoid very hot showers until your skin has calmed down.
- Refrain from touching the treated area with unwashed hands.
- Stay out of the sun and avoid tanning beds.
- Skip swimming in the sea or pools, as this can increase irritation.
- Keep the area dry, avoiding excessive sweating.
- Do not use scrubs, rough cleansing brushes, chemical peels, or exfoliating cleansers until your skin has healed.
Frequency of Use. Start by testing how your skin reacts. If the reaction is normal, you can use the dermaroller 2-3 times a week. After a few weeks, you can increase the frequency to 4 times a week for enhanced results.
Additional Tips. We recommend replacing your dermaroller every 3-4 months. While titanium needles are durable, they will wear out over time, becoming less effective at piercing the skin. Regular replacement ensures you continue to get the best results from your treatments.
Dermarolling is safe and effective for all skin types, regardless of skin color or ethnicity.
